Understanding Universal Credit

David McArthur is currently an Employer and Partnership Manager for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). He has over 25 years’ experience in the recruitment and welfare world. He was made a Fellow of the Institute of Recruitment Professionals in 2012. This was followed by an Honorary Fellowship in June 2013 for his significant contribution to the recruitment industry. He was also shortlisted for the In-House Recruitment Leader of the Year award in the Recruiter Excellence Awards 2014 and was honoured with an MBE for his work in that same year. In May 2016 he won the globally recognised Recruiter Magazine In-House Recruitment Leader of the Year. In 2017 he was presented with the Wave 105 Local Community Hero Award and supported a local mental health charity with all money received. David has looked after major UK recruitments, including the 2012 Olympics, and has personally assisted over 30,000 people back to work. At a Las Vegas recruitment symposium he was classed as being in the top 20 recruitment leaders in the world. He enjoys the broad spectrum of his work, from working with hundreds of organisations supporting multiple and complex needs, to supporting large-scale employment and redundancies and assisting stakeholders with all aspects of Universal Credit.
